Pictures anyone?

Even though little Simon is the youngest of the family, he will have some pictures taken of him (despite the fact that the nurse did have to remind us!!).

So here is a photo dump of Simon Daniel born on January 12th. He was 8lb. 6.4oz and 21 inches long.

Last prego pic before the hospital. I was induced, so we had to be at the hospital at 7:30 a.m.
Here I am at 40 weeks exactly!

He's here! Sorry for the weird picture, our camera was on the wrong setting.

Getting weighed

A pretty happy mommy and daddy!

Can you say proud papa?

The gang's all here!

I asked Annika if we should keep him and she said "Definitely!" I think she thinks this whole thing is pretty cool.

Taryn is the most enamored with Simon. Maybe she's glad the numbers evened out so she's not the middle child anymore? When we picked her up this afternoon after we were discharged she ran to the door and said "Do you still have the baby?!"

Landon is, well, indifferent. When he first saw me at the hospital, he took one look at Simon and said "Look, I got a new shirt!" Forget this new baby everyone keeps talking about! :)

The whole team

All dressed up to go home

There you have it, our new family. So far Simon is turning out to be a good little eater and sleeper...both exceptional qualities in a newborn. ;) Thank you to all of you for your prayers! We are all so thankful for our healthy and happy new addition! Praising our God from whom ALL blessings flow!

And, oh, remember this?

Well...it was correct!

Finally A Snow Day!

This morning we woke up to a beautiful covering of snow so school was canceled. The weather forecasters were actually right in predicting about 6-8 inches of snow. I think we have had about that much, plus it's still coming down. As much as I love the beauty of freshly fallen snow, it really isn't my thing. I like to watch it coming down while sitting inside drinking a hot beverage. Going outside in it? Not so much. But, I knew today I would have to get my Super Mom cape on, buck up and let the kids go out and play. It wasn't windy and it wasn't too cold so there weren't any excuses. I could've said I am 40 weeks pregnant, but the kids really don't care too much about that.

It took us about 40 minutes to find our snow gear and get all bundled up. Landon lasted about 30 minutes, Taryn lasted about an hour and Annika was outside for over 2 hours! The neighbor kids came over and they all entertained each other. Definitely worth the time it took to bundle everyone up!

Now, Landon is napping and the girls are having a great time playing games together. Meanwhile, I was able to chat it up on the phone with one of my besties from VA. So, the more I think about it, I guess this snow stuff isn't half bad.

Double Dog Dare Hair Update!

A year ago on December 16th I posted about not cutting my hair for a year. Well it's been over a year and other than a little trim every few months, I haven't officially "cut" my hair which in my mind means more than an inch and perhaps a new style. I figured I better do it now before I will have absolutely no time when baby #4 makes his/her arrival. However, that would be assuming that I have time to do it now. Thanks to my good friend Emily, I had a free morning to get my groom on.
So, here is the before picture from a year ago...

Here is a pic before I went to the salon today...

and here is the fabulous new do! Not a big change. In fact, I wonder, if it wasn't for this post, if Dan would have even noticed, hmmm. It's just a bit shorter with a few layers to get the "bulk" out.

Now, I wonder if I can go another year! Ya dare me?!
