This morning we woke up to a beautiful covering of snow so school was canceled. The weather forecasters were actually right in predicting about 6-8 inches of snow. I think we have had about that much, plus it's still coming down. As much as I love the beauty of freshly fallen snow, it really isn't my thing. I like to watch it coming down while sitting inside drinking a hot beverage. Going outside in it? Not so much. But, I knew today I would have to get my Super Mom cape on, buck up and let the kids go out and play. It wasn't windy and it wasn't too cold so there weren't any excuses. I could've said I am 40 weeks pregnant, but the kids really don't care too much about that.
It took us about 40 minutes to find our snow gear and get all bundled up. Landon lasted about 30 minutes, Taryn lasted about an hour and Annika was outside for over 2 hours! The neighbor kids came over and they all entertained each other. Definitely worth the time it took to bundle everyone up!
Now, Landon is napping and the girls are having a great time playing games together. Meanwhile, I was able to chat it up on the phone with one of my besties from VA. So, the more I think about it, I guess this snow stuff isn't half bad.
Glad to hear it was worth it!!
ReplyDeleteSnow = instant energy zapper for kids...you should love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is a trick to get them all bundled up. They all want to be helped at once. Mommy, get my boots on, mommy get my mittens on, mommy I can't find my other mitten, mommy.................... I can just hear it. BUT glad they had a good time and you had a nice talk with a friend.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone enjoyed the snow, and hooray for you for capturing it at 40 weeks! I cannot wait to find out what you are having. Let me tell you...snow is not my thing. It snowed 6" before Christmas and it wasn't enough for a 2 hour delay.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you on the going out in the snow. I'm always weighing the time it takes to get 3 kids ready vs. how long they will last once outside.
