Toto, I have a feeling...

...we're not in Kansas anymore. If any of you are friends of mine on that social media site, you will know that we are not in the Plain state.  For the past few weeks, we have been spending some quality time with Grandma.

It is a wonderful blessing to have Grandma in Southern California. We can spend weeks out here in the "dry heat" enjoying her pool and the beach without having to pay the outrageous taxes. :) However, the gas prices may put us in the poor house.

A few weeks ago, it all started out like this...

where we saw a lot of this...

which, FINALLY, brought us to this...

We have been able to spend time with these fabulous people...
Unfortunately, I had to cover the absolutely perfectly adorable faces of my niece and nephew...they are a part of our family, but not legally...so no peeking for you! But, trust me, they are the ca-u-test ever!!! :)

We are doing things like....hiking up a mountain

...Visiting the Urgent Care (sorry, no pictures).  Ten minutes after start of hike, Landon stuck his walking stick in his eye. Nothing says "Happy Fourth of July" like a corneal abrasion! Thankfully he's fully healed!

Going shopping with my favorite shopping buddies...

and, of course, some of this...

We were even treated to some horseback riding...thanks Auntie Anisa!!

...and everyday we have a few hours of this...

So, Toto, we are definitely NOT in Kansas. We followed the yellow brick road (also known as Interstate 40) and it brought us to California! Not ready to click our ruby slippers yet, we have still have lots to do!

  1. Oh yeah...well, I got to swim in Shawnee Mission Lake yesterday. Who am I kidding, I would love to be out in the real surf.

  2. Why must so many vacations include trips to Urgent Care??? Sheesh, ours did, too. Glad Landon is all healed up! Enjoy your time with your wonderful family!! :)
