But, I will take my knight in shining armor coming home in a black SUV (thanks Matt H!) any day!! Tonight, Dan came home and he surprised us by showing up 2 days early! We were expecting to go pick up him up from the airport on Thursday night. But, low and behold, just as the kids and I sat down to a gourmet meal of hot dogs and green beans, the doorbell rang. And who was at the door?! After 51 very LONG days, my baby is back. The kids were SO excited to see him.
However, Taryn was a bit confused. We had a countdown chain and obviously there were still chains to be taken off. So one of the first things she asked Dan was "Why are you home before the chain is gone?" Apparently, the chain was the law and Dan broke some sort of law in her book. She got over it pretty quickly though. Especially after a rousing round of "
roar."
And it's kinda like he never left...
I personally know how great this feeling is (esp while pregnant!!) and how important it is for the kiddos! Happy Homecoming Daddy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTaryn cracks me up. that is all.
love y'all,
rachel
EVERTYONE looks so happy! I did notice that Dan looked thinner, too. So glad he is home safe and sound and that you are together as a family. Love you all!
ReplyDeleteAwww. Glad you're all together again. You get a gold star, Mama.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Dan! What a nice surprise for you and the kids Rebekah!!
ReplyDeleteHappiness for you!
ReplyDelete51 days, might as well be forever when you are pregnant! suprises absolutely rock!!! made me smile
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you...there is nothing better than having everyone home together. Enjoy this blessing.
ReplyDeleteSuper surprise. I wondered if you suspected that Reb. Taryn is so realistic. The chain says you aren't suppose to be home...what gives?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, prayers have been answered and I am happy he is home safe.
Love, love, love that pic...all together just as it should be. I'm so thankful and glad! Can't wait to hug you all next weekend.
