She laughed so hard her teeth fell out!

Saturday was an exciting day for Annika. For the last few weeks, her front tooth was hanging on by a thread. She's a bit timid (I won't say wimpy) when it comes to the prospect of anything remotely painful (kinda like her mommy...can you say epidural?). Anyway, she would let us wiggle her tooth but anytime we got close to maybe getting it out, she would immediately pull away. So on Saturday she said to me in the middle of Target, " Mom, I am ready for you to pull out my tooth." Now, if I was in Walmart maybe I would have considered doing it right then and there, but not in Tarjet. It's too classy of a place. I said, "Let's wait until we get home." Right when we got home she said she was ready. So I mustered up my courage and quickly twisted it out before either she or I changed our minds.

How she looked that morning:

Her new smile as of 4:00 on Saturday.

She thought she was pretty cool and funny at the same time. She kept on trying to say words with the "s" sound to see what it sounded like.

Then about 8:30 p.m. she came down from her room and said "My tooth came out!" Dan and I were confused. I thought she had lost her tooth that she had put under her pillow or something. Then she opened her mouth and sure enough her other front tooth was gone! We knew it was a little bit loose, but I thought we had a few more weeks with that one. We asked her what happened. She said, "Taryn made me laugh so hard that my other tooth came out!" I would really have liked to hear that joke!

Here is Annika sans her two front teeth!

  1. Wow! That was quite a big day for Annika! I hope the Tooth Fairy came through for her (I am surprised how much $ some of my students get for a tooth nowadays! Back when I was little it was 50 cents!) :)

  2. Earlier that day Annika and I wiggled and moved it to death, but she wanted nothing to do with pulling it...then Reb gets to be the good cop...scandalous!

  3. 2 in one day. I think that is a record. She is really going to change in appearance when the "big" teeth start coming in. It is cute to hear their lisp now though.

  4. My older two have lost several teeth. I have not helped them pull any. I clean up after them when they get sick, I did diapers and potty training, but I am so grossed out with pulling teeth. I can't do it. Walter has helped them with a few, but they have pulled most of their teeth out themselves. :)
