Whew! I don't know how you mamas who have 3 or more children are able to blog more than once a week (or even daily, ahem, Miss LL at Vitafamiliae). You should consider yourself lucky, dear reader, that I am getting back around to this...it's only been 21 days since my last post! I do like to blog, contrary to how it looks, but the days aren't long enough to get anything done! O.k. enough excuses.
WAY back in February one of my favorite ladies came out to visit and help out around the house while we continued to adjust to being a family of six. She is one of the best moms I know because she raised some pretty awesome kids. Yes, that's right, my Mom. Or, as I affectionately call her "Momma Lou." She wasn't able to come out right after Simon was born, but she came out as he turned one month old. Which, really, is when I needed the most amount of help because he was starting to wake up more and didn't just sleep all the time.
Amazingly enough, the weather was really nice for February! I think at one point it was warmer here than it was back in SoCal. But, as I write this there is snow on the ground, so don't get your hopes up. We did a whole lot of nothing other than the normal daily routine, which was just fine with all of us. Once again, I was spoiled by not having to make dinner, do the dishes, laundry or any house work. I was able to take some naps and just enjoy the presence of my mom. I was pretty spoiled. But, since I have given her 4 grand kids, I do think I deserve it. Ha!! :) She also was able to go and read to Annika's class which was pretty neat. We'll have to remember the mental picture of that because we forgot the camera.
So Momma Lou, here's a belated "Thank you" for all that you did to make my life a little bit easier those 10 days!
As a bonus, Simon flashed his first smile not to me, but to Grandma. We were able to grab a picture of one of the smiles...I think he melted his Grandma's heart just a bit. Already a little charmer.
It was wonderful for you, as I am sure for your kids, that your mom came to visit! What a blessing, for sure. I totally understand. I think anyone that has over 3 kids is ahhh-mazing. I am faaar from amazing. And faaar from regularly blogging with only 3 kids!
ReplyDeleteYep...so happy for BOTH of you... as a grandma.. I remember, it was a special time to help my daughters (when they actually appreciated it! HA, and bond with that grandchid you love, but live miles away! I remember my 4th baby, and I remember, when the oldest was gone, I was missing an arm!! :)Keep up the good work..
ReplyDeleteSimon has some cheeks on him-- love it! He is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteSo nice that "Momma Lou" could come out and spend time with you guys AND help you out (I'm still trying to figure out how you people manage with more than ONE kid)! :)
Yea, I don't really know how it happens. Could explain the quality of my content... :-) I'm positive you're doing the most important thing, whether you blog another word or not.
ReplyDeleteAwwww... Thanks, Bek! I miss you all so much.
ReplyDeleteSo precious! My heart warms for your mom and your little family. Simon is so adorable and I am so glad your mom was able to pamper you and get in some grandma time! I do miss your blogging...but a good momma knows her priorities!
ReplyDeleteAww, look at that cute little smile!
