Lots of changes around here!

Thanks to our little hail storm, we have had a bit of work done around the house.  A new roof, new gutters, new windows, new air conditioning units, new screens for the porch and even a new paint color!!  The kids are used to workers around the house and the neighborhood.  At first Landon was mesmerized by all the roofs being redone, but now it's all old news.

So it wasn't a big surprise when Annika came downstairs awhile back and said, "Boy, mom, there are a lot of changes around the house, aren't there."
To which I responded, "Yeah, I know lots of stuff going on."
Then she said, "Yeah, like a new clock for the garage and new toilet seats."

Um, o.k. Not quite what I was thinking about. I had forgotten that we hung up a clock on a wall in the garage, and we also replaced a toilet seat in her bathroom.  Apparently the over $30k in changes to the exterior of the house aren't as big of a deal to her. I guess it's the little things in life that really matter.

In case you are curious, here is a before and after of the house.  Since we had to get the house painted because of the hail damage on the backside of the house, we thought we would go with a whole new color...

Yes, our window is open because the weather has been GORGEOUS!!

  1. Back in May our neighbor told me he'd be happy to be completely done with his repairs by October. I laughed inside, but we still have a window that needs to be replaced and some items need touch up paint. I can't believe he was right, and how long it has taken...I am ready to be done dealing with contractors for a long time!

  2. I'm sure it has been a pain to deal with all the repairs but the house looks beautiful. Of course it did before the color change but I like the new color even better.
