We were at our local playground when we first noticed these two (actually there were three, not sure what happened to other one) up in the sky. Dan (in his engineer voice) told the kids that he bets with the way they were traveling and the way the breeze was blowing, they would end up flying right over our house. So, we jumped back on our bikes and pedaled on back home just in time to welcome them to our neighborhood.
Note in the picture below, you will see Dan with a pole and ladder. You will also note the white trash bag caught in our neighbor's tree. When Landon saw Dan pulling this stuff out of the garage, he thought Dan was going to try to poke down the hot air balloon. :)

Ahh, Kansas, why can't your weather be like this all the time?! Early summer...sigh...I just can't get enough of it!
The only bag that is able to be turned into a real hot air ballon is a dry-cleaning bag. Just make sure you have a way to get the ballon down--right mom?

ReplyDeleteIn the fourth picture, you should photoshop strings attaching your house to the balloon and it'd look like a scene from Up.
Very fun! Is it weird that I've jumped out of an airplane 17,000 feet up, but have no desire to ride in a hot air balloon??
Because in a hot air balloon you are just being held up in the air by some nylon and a little basket...when you are skydiving you at least have a parachute and you are intentionally falling from the sky! :)
