Remember how last Thursday I took a mental health day? It was really refreshing not to mentally worry about whether or not beds were made or if the house was picked up. And, by the way, I failed to take a picture of the basement...boy, was that a doozy! I don't usually pick up my girls' rooms but I do try to make their beds everyday, just for my own personal sanity. On Thursday, none of that happened. I just closed the doors and walked away.
But, just like when you go on vacation, you come back to work that didn't take care of itself. So what did our "day after" look like?
The end results...
| I need to give credit where credit is due, Dan was actually the one that made our bed. Happy Valentine's Day to me! |
My kiddos showed their Valentine's love to me by doing such great jobs!! Told them over and over how proud I was of them and their teamwork. At one point, Annika asked if we could erase each job when we were done with them. I said, "No! Cross them off so at the end of the day you can see all that you accomplished!" And, we accomplished a lot.
And just in case you thought I was the meanest mama ever by making them work on Valentine's Day, I did make some extra special pizzas for dinner. :)
Ahh, my mental health day was great, but having a clean house does feel really good. Even if it only lasted until 11:30 a.m. the next day.

Hahaha!! Annika's "circle yes or no" written on the board made me laugh!!! Oh to be young!! ;) great job everyone! It really does feel good to have a clean house, doesn't it?? Maybe I will hold off on getting a house cleaner since the sense iof accomplishment does feel pretty good!
ReplyDeleteWhy does taryn have a name badge on and did simon not get his hour of electronics?
ReplyDeleteThey were playing "office" downstairs with our old computer keyboard and monitor downstairs. :) yep, simon messed around with the nook...not sure if it was the full hour. Thankfully he can't tell time. :)
DeleteI am just glad to see all of your jobs are crossed off Reb :-)
