School's Out for the Summer (Part 1)

I have to say "Part 1" for this post because Annika and Taryn are on summer break as of today, Landon still has until next Thursday (darn snow days!). Two out of three are on summer break, and I am so ready!! Well, actually, not ready ready.  I don't really know what we are going to be doing tomorrow, or even next week, but my mind is ready. My brain is done with assignment sheets, spelling lists, math fast facts, and book reports. Done, done, done.  Bring on pool days and long nights!! I do feel like I need to re-read my Letter to My Children from last summer, since all rules still apply.

But, for now, I am going to do the obligatory first day vs. last day pictures. I am actually really impressed that I remembered to take them today, since that's very "beginning of the year" type behavior. By this time of the year, I am just glad we are out the door semi-on-time. Also, you will note, since it was the last week of school, the uniforms could stay in the closet.  Confession time: I am in love with uniforms!! These last 3 days have not been good for me and my girls to come together on decisions with what they would wear the next day. Love, love, love uniforms!! Anyway...on to the pictures...

Egads! They have grown!! What the world was I feeding them this year?! Apparently whatever it was I need to stop right away, because they are getting to big for this mama!!

  1. There is a difference in the photos between boys and girls...Taryn is wearing the same pair of shoes at the end of the year. I don't think I ever made it through a year in the same pair of shoes!

  2. As I was beginning to read this post, I thought of the "letter to my children" and thought that it couldn't possibly be a year that you wrote that! Are you sure it wasn't just for spring break a few weeks ago??

  3. Good observation Dan. Thanks for posting that Reb. It is neat to see the change a school year makes. Another year and Annika will be half way through grade school. I am all for uniforms too, makes so much sense.

  4. Love the pics! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing you (Reb) twice this summer, and the rest of your family at the reunion! It's looking to be a great summer indeed.
