Anyway, his sisters have been keeping me on my toes lately, and also keeping me laughing. Two examples:
Taryn (walking up to me with a little bug in between her fingers): Look! look! I found a rowee-powee (rolly-polly)!
Mommy: Oh, yes you did!
Taryn: Ahh, isn't he cute?!
Mommy: He sure is.
Taryn: I squished him. (She says as she chucks the innocent, and now squished, bug to the ground and walks away).
Mommy getting the two girls ready for bed (it was a long night!):
Mommy: That's it, girls, I have lost my patience! I have lost it!
Annika: Really, mommy, you lost it?!
Mommy: YES! It's gone!
About 15 minutes later, after books and bible stories, it was time to pray:
Annika: Dear God, thank you for this day and thank you for the wonderful world we live in. Please help mommy find the patience that she lost. And help Daddy too. Amen.
May we all treasure the creatures God created and if your patience is lost, may you find it again. :)
I can't say that I'm thrilled with Taryn's disregard for living things. Just ask my parents how mad I got when they squished a caterpillar on a bike ride when I was little. Maybe Annika can pray for Taryn's care for creatures tonight.
ReplyDeleteI thought only boys squished bugs. I love Annika's prayer. Can you ask her to pray for me?
ReplyDeleteI love her prayer! How cute. You can have her pray for mine too, it's gone missing now for some time! ;)
ReplyDeletecan you just have a video camera on them all the time so you can catch them saying those cute things?
ReplyDeleteYup, we were on a bike ride on a Sunday aft. to Oak Grove. I was seeing how many caterpillars I could ride over (just making the ride interesting) Dan got very upset with me, saying those are God's creatures you shouldn't kill them. Yippes, alrighty then.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard this?
ReplyDeleteLizzie: "Aww...mommy it's a butterfly on the ground."
Mommy: "Yes, look at the pretty colors Lizzie"
Lizzie: "I am going to stomp on him now, OK?"
Dear Annika, would you please include Mrs. Moris in your evening prayers for lost patience? ;-)
