Going out with a bang!

What a wild and crazy weekend!! On Friday night my hubby surprised me with an early 30th birthday party. Trust me it is really hard for him to surprise me, but with help from a few sneaky gals, he managed to totally surprise me. He got a few of my close girlfriends together for an evening "Painting our Hearts Out" in Occuquan. Just feel the brushstrokes, ladies...or something like that. "Dessert and Drinks" afterward was, well, interesting. Let's just say I saw a part of Virginia I hadn't really seen before.

On Saturday, Dan was able to play in one last flag football game for the Alpacas. He was a bit sore this morning, but I am so very glad he didn't get injured. He would have been no good to me these next few days if he was hobbling around. In the afternoon, a group of woman from GBC who are extra special to me got together for lunch. Even though some of these woman I have known for less than 2 years, they have impacted my life in ways I don't think they even know. What a great God to bring us all together for a season!!

Today was an "o.k. this is really happening" kind of day. We worshiped at GBC for the "last time." (I say it in quotes, because I know we will be back). What awseome things God has done in that church. It's a little church that I know will make a great impact. We are blessed to have been a part of some of it. Today was also important because we had Landon dedicated to the Lord. We are committing to bringing up this little guy to, by God's grace, be a man of faith.

After church B, K, and M so kindly hosted a little going away party for our family. No goodbyes here, just some "see ya laters." Thank you for the wonderful Kansas City bbque and Virginia ham. We are leaving and going to some states that know how to eat well! Words can't describe how much you all mean to me.

True Friends are Hard to Find...Difficult to Leave and Impossible to Forget...
Thank you to my wonderful hubby and friends for an incredible weekend! I love you all!

  3. What no pictures (sniff, sniff)? It's gonna be weird thinking of you all in "Toto land" instead of my usual Potomac Mills reference :(.

  6. What will we do without you??? These last few days whenever I tear up about it SG tells me, "It's alright Mama the Eekhoffs can still be our best friends we'll just have to fly to their new house to play." If only it were that easy :o) Each of you are precious friends to us & we will miss you like crazy around here. But it is only see you later because friends like you don't come around often...it'll take more than a move to get rid of us! We love you & are praying for your new adventures.

  7. Hey Reb -

I'll hold my tongue about Landon "being dedicated to the Lord" except to say I would have liked to have seen the covenant sign given to him!

Okay, you had to think I would have said something!!

    Love ya!
