Third time's the charm?

Augh, this house hunting stuff is getting a bit aggravating. When we arrived here last weekend, we thought we were organized and ready. We met with our realtor on Monday to look at some houses. We revisited some that we saw on our househunting trip, and also looked at a few new ones including one in a subdivision that we found online. This area looks like a great community that is right across the road from the school where Annika will be attending preK and hopefully elementary school.

Needless to say we fell in love with the house in the great subdivision. It had EVERYTHING we had on our "wish list." It even had a back staircase from the kitchen (like the Huxtables!). Great yard, great price, great everything. We were ready to put in an offer. The next day our realtor called a 1/2 hour before we were to meet with her to put in an offer. The sellers had already accepted an offer on the house. We were devestated. Tuesday we essentially "mourned" the house and the fact that we won't be living there. We did put in a backup offer in case the buyer backed out, but with the information we have that isn't likely. For some reason, God didn't want us to have that house.

House #1--bummer, already sold

So it was back to the drawing board...House #2 came along. Same subdivision but higher price tag. We took a look. It was a beautiful home, great yard, move-in ready with a finished basement, but more than we wanted to pay. But, we took a stab at it anyway. We went back and forth with the sellers (who were already relocated to Alaska). Eventually, yesterday (Saturday) we decided we didn't want to go as high as they wanted. This was getting frustrating...again, we have to see God's hand and say that he didn't want us in that house.

House #2--too high of a price tag

On to House #3...same subdivision, just down the street, another house. Exact same floor plan as House #2, but even though it's new construction this was a foreclosure. This house is on a good lot, but not necessarily move in ready. It has some cosmetic stuff that needs to be done by the builder. It doesn't have a finished basement and there isn't any landscaping done yet. Other than that it is also a beautiful house and the price could be right. That is where we are now...our third offer on the third house. Will this one take? We will keep you updated! Hopefully, we will have a home soon!!

House #3--maybe home?

  3. I like it. You can pick out your own flowers and etc. Is this in the same area we rode around in? I am going to have to go back to the picture.

  4. House shopping it a pain. We did it before we decided to build. I understand the whole living in temporary/apartment living, we did it for 8 months. Charlotte spent most of her life in a pack-n-play and did live in the closet in our Springfield apartment. Bella would say, this is my room and this is Charlotte's room refering to the walk in closet in her room.

  5. Home is where you hang your hat, and where your kids write on the walls and ruin the carpet. what ever God provides will become the perfect Eekhoff home, landscaping or none! "Trust in the Lord with all your heart...."

  7. It is beautiful! We so know what it's like and have definitely seen that anything we didn't get God brought something better! But agreed, it's a pain making offers, not getting one that you want, having to do it all over again :) Can't wait to see what he brings!
