When we were searching for houses, we were introduced to the term "hearth room." It's in between a family room and a den. Just an extra sitting area, I suppose. Another room to furnish. I guess if we didn't have a finished basement we would probably have our t.v. up here and then it would be more of a den. Well, it's one of my favorite places our whole house. For a few fleeting moments in the morning, I can sit here to skim the paper (hopefully it's the current day's paper and not the paper from the day before) and finish my cup of coffee. This usually lasts as long as Landon's attention span for the latest Mickey episode. On a good day I can usually get 20 minutes in before anyone notices that mommy has free time to herself that must be interrupted. On a really good day I may even flip the switch and turn on the fire. It's just a cozy little area where I can sit and see my domain. Sometimes I even pretend it's my throne room. :)
Where is your favorite place in your house? And, no, you can't say the bathroom...even though some days that may be the only place where you can get a moment of quiet.

Am I annoyed I haven't made the list...somewhat, but more so that you haven't continued to properly title your favorites with a running total (i.e. (F5 or Favorite #5))...HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

ReplyDeleteAnd I really enjoyed that room with you when I was out! Thought you were going to put one of the chairs back in the LR? I like the look with two and it is a very inviting place if you have someone over to share that cup of coffee...
ReplyDeleteWe have a hearth room, but it became the play room. However, since we put a new sofa in it, it feels more adult. I like to cozy in there when the toys are put away.
