#27 A good book. I love a good book. Fiction, non fiction, biography, autobiography, suspense, romance, historical novel, you name it. I will read it.
Three of my favorites:
My favorite fiction book of all time: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I think I enjoy this book because it's a glimpse at the innocence of a young girl who is trying to figure out the world around her. I like the way Scout sees her dad as a confident hero who sticks up for what he believes in. I like that because that's the way I saw my own dad.
My favorite non-fiction: the Holy inspired word of God, also known as The Bible. Heb. 2:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Non-fiction/Biography: John Adams by David McCullough. Mr. McCullough is one of my favorite authors. Makes me love being a history major.
Other enjoyable reads...The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory, The Lineage of Grace Series by Francine Rivers. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. The Kite Runner and 1000 Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossieni. The Great Divorce and the whole Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis. I could go on and on.
Right now Dan and I are reading the Harry Potter Series together. We are on book 4. I wouldn't say I am a huge fan of fantasy, but, those are some good books!!
Also, I have a confession. Please don't judge me. I was coerced, yes, I will put the blame on someone else, but I read all 4 books in the Twilight Series, and, yes, I enjoyed them. THERE I said it!!
O.k., FINALLY, my 28th favorite! Drumroll please......YOU!
Yes, you, my faithful readers! I avoided writing a blog for so long because I really didn't have anything to write about. I still really don't have anything to write about. The main reason I do this thing is not for any political or spiritual reason, but it's for my pure enjoyment. It's a little way of keeping those I love who are far away feel a little bit closer to my family. When I get comments from y'all about things that I write, that is a favorite in my day. I like that little bit of connection with you! Really, I do! So don't be shy and comment!!
Thank you for reading and putting up with my favorite things this last month. Somethings may have been simple or strange, and I probably forgot something really important. But, I guess that's just more to blog about!!
Don't worry I won't be doing my "Least Favorite Things" in March. :) Hello, ironing!!!
I am going to miss your favorite things! I hope you will continue to posting often.
ReplyDeleteI, too, love to read but I have been lazy about it lately.
I liked your Favorite Things list...my goal in the summer will be to post more often. Miss you Reb!
ReplyDeleteI have loved the "connection" Rebekah. The miles don't seem so many... Love and miss you and your family
ReplyDeleteI really like the post-a-day. You know I like to read too. I am reading The China Card by John Ehrlichman(sp?) right now. I think you would like it. I wondered if you would run out of ideas but no, you did super. Don't hesitate to start another post-a-day theme. :-)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS...YOU DID IT! This favorites month was great for me...a dummy guide into what my wife was thinking :)!
