Favorite Things February #9: Landon

Landon definitely makes my life interesting. A good friend (LY) told me once that if I wanted to have more kids to get pregnant before Landon turned 18 months old, because once he's 18 months you won't want to have any more! I can see what she meant. Man, I have to watch him. He's busy and curious...a deadly combination. There isn't anything that he won't explore or try to get into. He can throw a fit worth an Oscar. Problem is, he's just so darn cute (momma's bias, I know). Plus every once and awhile he will surprise me by sitting down and looking at books for a good 10 minutes.

We're not sure how Landon mastered the stairs. It was about 6 months ago, when Dan took him upstairs to change and the next moment Landon was back downstairs.
Dan called to me, "Is Landon down there?!"
I said "Yes, didn't you help him get down the steps?"
"Umm, no," came the tentative reply.
Guess he figured it out on his own.

Well, since then, he has definitely mastered it. The other day I heard this thump, thump, thump down the steps. I asked Annika "What was that?!" She said, "Oh, that's just Landon going down the steps." I had to see it for myself. Sure enough, he gets onto his tummy, lifts up his feet and flies down the steps. I had to get it on tape. But, I had to be quick because if he saw me he would want me to carry him down the steps. Plus, there is the curse of the mom and video camera. Once you have the camera out, they don't do it.

This is the best I could get...I hope you get the idea! :) Watching Landon fly down the steps is one of my favorite things.

  1. Now all he needs is a piece of cardboard and he can really fly. Either that or a sleeping bag works good too :-)

  2. And at the end of the second video he's already trying to get into something else. Hilarious.
